About leap Healthy Meals
An approved meal sponsor putting fresh, balanced food in front of students — more than five million meals and counting.
leap is an approved Meal Sponsor through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). We provide nutritious meals and snacks to after-school and educational programs across Southern California, Northern California, and Arizona.
We believe good nutrition and physical activity are the foundation of a student's overall well-being. By ensuring students have access to healthy meals, leap helps them feel ready to learn, grow, and thrive.
Where we serve
leap Healthy Meals partners with programs year-round to deliver no-cost meals to students ages 1–18 — supper and snacks after school through CACFP, and breakfast and lunch all summer through SFSP. We focus on supporting underserved communities by providing the right nutrition at the moments students need it most.
Today leap serves 40+ active sites in 28+ cities — from Los Angeles, Inglewood, and Compton to Oakland and the Bay Area, and across Arizona from Phoenix to Tucson to Yuma. And we're growing: leap is expanding into Nevada, with our first CACFP application underway.

How our meals measure up
Our food service program strictly follows USDA, CACFP, and SFSP meal guidelines. Each meal includes a balance of milk, fruits, vegetables, grain products, and proteins or protein alternatives (such as ground turkey, eggs, and cheese).
Our roots
leap began in 2004 as an after-school enrichment program in Los Angeles and has been serving students ever since.
